Affiliates

Earn extra money from your site

Affiliates are a good way to earn revenue from your website and get your business name across to as many other sites as possible. There are lots of different forms of affiliation to consider, and lots of companies on the internet that can help you with this.

For example, at Vizcom Design we use Affiliate Window, where you open an account for the small fee of £5 and select which banners you would like to display on your website. Obviously the banners have to be in some way relevant to your site, and obviously not be from a competitor. For example, if you sell children's clothing, perhaps a banner for The Early Learning Centre would be a good idea. Go to our home page and see left hand panel to sign up with Affiliate Window.

All done for you

Affiliate Window offers a wide variety of company banners, most of which are large established companies and household names,  such as New Look, John Lewis, Toys R Us, Sky, Marks & Spencer, PC World, Virgin Media, Currys, Comet and Boots.  The advantage of using big names like this is that because the brands displayed are already established, this can add a certain authenticity to your site in the mind of the visitor. Affiliate Window also has a dashboard area where you can see reports which detail how many people have clicked on your banner and how many sales/ how much commision you've earned within a given period.

Sign up for £5

If you would like to sign up with Affiliate Window click here. It costs £5 which is refunded once you earn over £50 in commission. The commission is earned after a visitor has clicked on the banner on your site and has made a sale on the affiliate's site.

Another way of affiliating with another site is to contact the webmaster directly and ask if they would be interested in displaying a link or a small banner to your site and vice versa. The chances are that you won't be paid for this, but done correctly, and that is by being polite, you will have your link displayed on a site that is relevant to yours and network (albeit virtually) with another business in your industry.
