Bloggers & Webmasters
If you have been slowly working your way through our 101 Marketing Tips section, you will have read Tip #12.
If you have not, I suggest you do it now.
Blogs, as they are written by human beings, are 'trusted' by search engine spiders and rank very highly.
The age of blogging is upon us and there’s lots of very respected bloggers out there, some of which have made it into
celebrity status, such as Perez Hilton.
Blogs are written about anything for anyone, and if you have an hour or two spare, we strongly suggest doing a spot of
research and finding out if there’s any well established blogs dedicated to your industry. By well established, we mean blogs that receive a lot of traffic and offer in-depth information from their author.
Once you find one, bookmark it and keep checking back to monitor the activity to ensure it’s as popular as you first
perceived it, before politely getting involved with the posts and forming a relationship with the author. They will be glad of the interest in their writing, especially if they’re passionate about their subject topic, and you will be able to ask for some honest feedback from someone who is obviously very knowledgeable about their field.
Equally, if you can strike up an online relationship with webmasters whose sites operate in the same industry but that
are not in direct competition with your own, then you’re in an ideal position to acquire some honest, helpful and
constructive feedback. And don’t forget to return the favour if it is asked of you!
