Google Base
Is a relatively new branch of the Google empire- it’s an online database which any user can add content, such as text and images. If Google deems the data relevant, it will also list it on Google Product Search (formerly known as ‘Froogle’) which is a price comparison website. This is particularly useful if your website includes an online catalogue of products- it may be worth uploading images and text descriptions of each if you have the time- thus attracting potential customers from another source than directly through your own website. You can upload all of your products to Google Base from an XML file.
The uploaded content can be labeled with keywords ensuring that it appears as a result of relevant searches, which applies to events, promotions, new services, new products, press releases and so on. A dashboard facility then allows you to view the stats of each uploaded piece of data- letting you track exactly how successful your uploads are.
