Frequently Asked QuestionsThis section of our site lists commonly asked questions about design, print and websites. How we work, processes and things to consider. If you can't see the answer to your question, please give us a call on 0800 804 73 18 or send an email to info@vizcomdesign.co.uk Corporate Identity/Logo Design How many designs to I get to see if I place an order? We present a minimum six designs. Then we suggest that you show these designs around, ideally to the kind of people you want to appeal to. What tends to happen at this stage is that one or two particular favourites will emerge, we can then let you have the chosen idea or if you like show how it looks in different colours and font styles. See our logo design section for examples. How long does a design take? We like to allow 5 working days to develop the inital designs - although this can be done sooner if required. How can I improve my serach engine rankings and popularity rating for FREE? There are a number of ways to improve your search engine rankings free of charge. The main and most popular search engine Google will rank your site in a number of ways. It looks at the number of links coming in to it, to see if it is a popular website and determine if the site is worthy of a high ranking. Ask your suppliers or clients for links from their websites to yours, especially sites which are popular ones and make sure there businesses are related to yours. List your company and web address with as many directories as possible, go for the free listings first of all and then monitor the traffic from these sites - be warned you will get people from the directory trying to sell to you. Also encourage people to re-visit your website by asking them to join your mailing list and email them offers and news asking them to look at your website. Use your site as an on-line brochure e.g. if you send someone a quote ask them to click a link on to your site to show them what you mean. Also adding text rich links to your site helps eg. when Vizcom describe websites on the homepage it links to another part of the site, the website section. A search engine looks at this and thinks that a link about the word it is searching for appears on this site so it must be worth a look at. For more information download our website guide. Why are Vizcom's CMS (Content Management System) websites so search engine friendly? The main reason for this is that the coding used in building the system is very 'clean' in other-words the search engines can see it very easily. All a search engine sees is text so if your website is built entirely in Flash or using frames search engines tend to not recognise it. |
